ASSIST Center holds Successful 2017 Industry Meeting at NC State


On January 26-27, ASSIST welcomed more than 130 guests representing seven universities and 30 companies to the Hunt Library for the 2017 ASSIST Industry Meeting.

Guests heard updates about ongoing projects and emerging research from 16 faculty who spoke at the meeting.  More than 30 posters were presented, representing research from all eight universities currently associated with the ASSIST Center.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Gul Ege, Senior Director, Advanced Analytics R&D for the SAS Insitute. on the topic “How do we analyze healthcare wearable data?” Dr. Ege shared highlights of ongoing work in motif discovery during event stream processing, including SAS’s collaboration with the ASSIST Center.

One great highlight of the meeting was expanding membership in the ASSIST Industry Program.  A hearty welcome to our newest members, Striiv and KWJ Engineering!
