Summer REU Program (Research Experiences for Undergraduates)
Application deadline has been extended to February 29th, 2016!
The summer REU program offers research opportunities for domestic undergraduates from institutions outside of the ASSIST center. The program is open to any student who is majoring in a science or engineering-related field.
REU students will be immersed in a 10-week intensive research experience at one of ASSIST’s partner institutions where
they will experience the various aspects of university research. Students will be partnered with a faculty mentor based on their interests, they will conduct a research project, and they will present their work at a student symposium at the end of the summer.
The program is open to U.S. Citizens and permanent residents only. Women, members of under-represented minority populations, and students from institutions that do not have strong STEM research programs are encouraged to apply.
The Summer REU program runs from May 23rd, 2016 until August 2, 2016.
Students will receive a $4,000 stipend, on-campus room and board, and up to $500 for travel reimbursement for those students coming from outside of a 50 mile radius of the host university.
